Why ordinary people voted to leave the EU

07 March, 2019

‘It will take a long, long, time before we all become sufficiently tolerant to think globalisation will work’

• AFTER reading the various Hampstead élites’ views on Brexit, I would just like to say: “Don’t you understand why we voted to come out of Europe?”

We are the majority. We don’t want internationalism and globalisation! The idealistic élites like the idea, but ordinary folk know that it is against human nature.

The only real benefit is to commerce and to those with a vested interest in commerce. Britain has always traded with the whole world and after Brexit always will. And that is a better way to foster peace, surely?

People like to be with other people who think like they do. It will take a long, long, time before we all become sufficiently tolerant to think globalisation will work in any way other than for the benefit of commerce.
