A study conducted in 2009 concluded that each cup of coffee consumed lowers the risk of diabetes by an entire 7 percent. Scientists explain that the caffeine assists the body in insulin use and regulates blood sugar, as well as prevents tissue damage and fights against inflammation, which are all risk factors for type 2 diabetes.
The consumption of coffee has also been linked to lowering the occurrence of cirrhosis.
