What’s going on in Regent’s Park?

24 January, 2019

• THE Gloucester Gate entrance to Regent’s Park has been closed, in both directions, since at least January 4 to the present, ostensibly for Thames Water works.

Thousand of road users are being squeezed into Albany Street or long detours round the top of the park – but nothing has happened except some large machinery being parked within the elaborate barriers. And now the top of Park Village East has been closed again – identically, just with machinery parked.

What is going on and why is all this “parking” needed, when HS2 has taken over so much of the zoo car park? Or is Thames Water the culprit, unable to schedule actually carrying out the works? For the colossal sums being spent, why isn’t anyone co-ordinating all this?
