What Brexit will mean for other European states
04 October, 2018
• IN common with most other voters I am woefully ignorant about the complex details required for leaving the EU. There is, however, a simple corollary to this which the prime minister and her team at least behave as though they have not drawn.
This is that the EU cannot rationally agree withdrawal arrangements which they believe might leave the UK financially better off unless we can offer things such as military, GCHQ, European Space Agency, etc, support that can be shown obviously not to be available from other EU countries.
If we cannot, several other EU countries will also decide to leave the EU’s no doubt admirable ideals.
