What a ride! Marylebone’s summer festival is a sunny spectacular

THE sun was shining over Marylebone at the weekend for the annual summer festival.
Organised by The Howard de Walden Estate, the action kicked off with a film night on Saturday in Paddington Street Gardens, organised in collaboration with Nomad Cinema and Working Title, a local production company.
The night was in support of the charity COSMIC, which raises money for St Mary’s Hospital’s paediatric intensive care unit.
Sunday saw the Marylebone Summer Fayre take over the streets and gardens of Marylebone village, showcasing more than 100 stalls including Prosecco Unlimited, Daylesford, Roti Chai, Butter Nut and Le Creuset.
Other highlights were live music from artists including Burbank, Hollie Rogers and a Bollywood Fusion Group, as well as a farmers’ market and children’s fair.
Howard de Walden Estate creative director Jenny Hancock said: “From all reports our event this year was a resounding success. Hopefully everyone who took part or came along to visit had a great day.
“Our team at the estate certainly did, as the work we do in the community is such a vital part of what the estate does and a particularly enjoyable part of the job.”
