• IT’S victory at last – we can report that Westbrook have withdrawn their appeal against Westminster City Council’s refusal of planning permission for their Dolphin Square redevelopment scheme.

This is a message of thanks from the Dolphin Square Preservation Society to all those who did so much to achieve this.

The society would like to thank the enormous number of neighbours and friends for their wonderful support over several years.

It has made all the difference in winning the battle to preserve the square, an unlisted building of merit on its own conservation site. Without your help we should not have had this victory.

A huge thank-you to every single person who wrote those letters of support and to everyone who helped in any way.

Special thanks go to FREDA the local residents’ association, to SGRA in St George’s Square, and to POP – Protect Our Pimlico and Churchill Gardens.

Local communities matter so much. We hope that as a result of everyone’s valiant help Dolphin Square will be able to continue to provide housing for those working unsocial hours in London, at affordable rents, and to be an active part of Pimlico.

On behalf of Dolphin Square Preservation Society
