More murder charges over night of knife violence that killed two
Five defendants to face trial over February 20 killings

Two men have been charged with murder in relation to a series of knife attacks that claimed two lives in one night in February – taking the total number of defendants due to stand trial to five.
Abdikarim Hassan, 17, was fatally stabbed in Bartholomew Road at around 8:30pm on February 20. Two hours later, Sadiq Aadam Mohammed, 20, was stabbed to death in Malden Road.
Earlier in the night two men were attacked in Aldenham Street, Somers Town, with one suffering multiple stab wounds. On the same night, a group of men were seen to chase a group of teenagers in Pembury Circus, Hackney, armed with knives.
Christian Thomas, 18, of Queen’s Crescent, was charged on Tuesday with the murder of Mr Hassan. He was also charged with violent disorder in Hackney and GBH and attempted GBH in relation to the Somers Town attack.
JJ Fatuga, 19, of Little Heath, Greenwich, was charged yesterday with the murder of Mr Mohammed and violent disorder in Pembury Circus.
Isaiah Popoola and Ben Drummond, both 19, went on trial on September 11 at the Old Bailey, accused of murder. The trial was halted after two days following the decision to charge 18-year-old Anuoluwa Temenu, with the murder of Mr Hassan on September 12.
All defendants are now expected be tried together in March 2019.
