Tin-Tin is tops on the table

Paddington’s table tennis star Tin-Tin Ho has reached new peaks of success, winning three out of four titles at the PG Mutual National Championships.
The 18-year-old sporting superstar (pictured above) defended the women’s singles title she won for the first time last year and added the women’s doubles and under-21 singles. She settled for silver in the mixed doubles at the contest in Nottingham but also picked up the tournament fair play award.
Tensions were high as Tin-Tin took on her doubles partner Maria Tsaptsinos in the final of the under 21s singles for the second year in a row. But while last year Tin-Tin lost out in a dramatic deciding set, this year she beat her competitor to the title.
“It means a lot after last year,” said the young winner. “Anyone who loses in a final the year before will want to win it the next time. I felt I played a bit smarter this year compared to last.
“Every national title means a lot to me but I’m happy with this one because of the way I played. I was calmer and less stressed and that’s an important part of my game going forward. I’ve been working on my mentality.”
It was a jubilant time for Tin-Tin, who added: “The tournament has been really good and it’s always fun to see everyone, so I’m very happy!”
