Thirty flee bedsits blaze

FOUR engines and 25 firefighters were called to a blaze at a building converted into bedsits in Queen’s Park.

Five bedsits were destroyed in Malvern Road and some 30 people were forced to evacuate the block before fire crews arrived just after 5am last Wednesday.

The fire was under control by 6.54am. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
