Taxi drivers make their point in Parliament Square

TAXI drivers blocked Parliament Square on Wednesday in a demonstration against a “multitude of issues” affecting the historic trade.
Drivers say they are being denied access to various bus lanes across the capital.
The say access is essential to help disabled passengers with their wheelchairs.
Andy Scott, who runs the London Taxi PR group, said: “How is this catering for the needs of the elderly infirm and those with sight or respiratory issues?
“Who is sanctioning this and are they consulting with local disability groups?
“Additionally, many London councils are also making roads inaccessible to taxis, either for various hours or at all times, denying them freedom of movement and thereby restriction of trade.”
