GOAL-GETTER Steve Killingback put on a clinical display of finishing at the weekend as he led Clerkenwell Old Boys to an impressive win over CT Spartans in the first round of the London Sunday Junior Cup.

In a topsy-turvy opening Denzel Attoh showed his creative touch to set up both of Killingback’s goals as Clerkenwell grinded out a 2-1 lead early on.

Killingback then turned provider for Dean Francis to score with a neat finish as the team from the Camden Sunday League increased their lead.

But in a thrilling match the Dagenham-based Spartans hit back to level the scores at 3-3.

The game continued to get more exciting as time ticked by with Killingback scoring a second-half hat-trick to add to the two goals he scored in the first half.

In the end the Old Boys netted a 6-5 victory to set up a second-round tie against FC Locomotive Thunder from the Barnet Sunday League.
