THE priest at St John’s Hyde Park, in Paddington, is backing a cycle loan scheme.

The Revd Margaret Legg has recently started cycling again but was told her bike was “too expensive to repair”.

She signed up for the council’s four-week cycle loan scheme.

She said: “It did what it said on the tin – and more. The cycling team were very knowledge- able and supportive throughout the four-week period. I ended up buying the bike I had been riding and remain delighted.”

The scheme offers the chance to try out a bike and get free cycling training. The scheme is to open to all Westminster residents aged 18 years and over and there is a one-off £10 membership.
