Soho Parish School produce short stories at famous studio

Pupils sense of natural timing was impressive

10 August, 2018 — By Lily Mackley

SOHO Parish Primary school pupils enjoyed an “enrichment hour” to get a taste of a career in sound design and writing at a trailblazing audio and post production facility.

The children went to the Grand Central Recording Studios in Great Marlborough Street on their “enrichment hour” this week.
They produced and directed two short stories they created that have now been picked up by BBC and Soho Radio.

Sound designer  Munzie Thind said:  “It was very refreshing to spend time with young people who were so enthusiastic about their work. The creativity was on a different level to what we’re used to and I was  really impressed with their natural  sense of timing  and structure.”

Alejandro Pelaez Molina from Soho Parish organised the project with support from Clare Lynch from Soho Radio and Goldstein Music who waived rights for a backing track.
