Amber Rivers – London, a magical evening of delicate sounds, deep drums, watery ritual and powerful prayer songs is being performed by Seventh Wave Music at St George’s Bloomsbury this Saturday evening (November 4). Internationally renowned Dartmoor musicians Carolyn Hillyer and Nigel Shaw draw inspiration for their work from the raw beauty and ancient spirit of wild land. Bach’s luminous Mass in A minor is being performed at the Royal Academy of Music on Sunday morning (November 5). • A two-act jazz evening is being organised by the Czech Centre in London at St Martin-in-the-Fields next Wednesday evening (November 8). Playing are be-bop guitarist Nigel Price and the Malina Liška Nejtek’s acoustic trio Fragile Bliss featuring dynamic and playfully original compositions.

• The influence of blues music on Jimi Hendrix’s works is being explored by Tom Attah at Handel and Hendrix in London next Wednesday evening (November 8). Soprano Emily Atkinson

• Early music specialist American soprano Emily Atkinson is singing at a fund­raiser for Age UK Camden’s NW3 Good Neighbours’ scheme at St Saviour’s, Eton Road, next Thursday evening (November 9). Also singing are choirs from New End School and Southbank International School.
