Innervisions, a brand-new festival of soul, jazz, blues, funk, reggae, hip-hop, Latin and world music, brings the likes of Jimmy Cliff (above), Black Star, The Pharcyde, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, and Mavis Staples to venues across London from July 3 to 14. Starting off at Koko with Lalah Hathaway, the festival includes four nights at the Roundhouse. See www.innervisionsfestival.com for the full line-up.

• Look out for the scooters as Mods Mayday 2018 hits 229 on May 4, featuring Secret Affair + The UK Chords + The Lambrettas + Small World + Six Deep + Killer Meters + The Transmitters.

• The Mod madness continues over at the Dublin Castle tomorrow (Friday) with Quadrophenia live club night, featuring The Absolute Kinks, plus DJ set from Drew Stanstall (ex-The Specials/Prince Buster).

•Also tomorrow (Friday), Ivor Novello-winning musician Scott Matthews plays the Union Chapel on May 4.

• Underground festival Desertfest returns to Camden for its seventh year this weekend (May 4-6), taking place across six venues and featuring more than 70 bands. Running from 3pm until late, all areas of the Roundhouse complex will be utilised, incorporating talks, screenings, DJ sets and more.
