Rain stops play – again

04 August, 2017

PLAYERS from both North Middlesex and Hampstead batted in vain on Saturday as the action in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Cricket League was washed out for the second weekend running.

The runs were free-flowing in North Midd’s match away at Shepherd’s Bush with James Parslow hitting 73, Evan Flowers scoring 69 and Luke Hollman reaching a half century as the visitors posted 250-8 off 46.2 overs.

Hampstead were also in formidable form with the bat as they reached 224-5 off 45.5 overs in their game against Finchley at their home ground in West Hampstead.

The emerging grey clouds would have been especially disappointing for openers Garth Davson (84 runs) and George Adair (68), who took the score beyond 150 before the fall of Hampstead’s first wicket.

In the end, however, the rain set in and effectively washed away all of the runs as both North Midd and Hampstead were left with just a single point for their morning’s hard work.
