Publishing Ken Jones’s letter was a serious lapse of editorial judgment

23 September, 2021

• I WAS shocked to read the hateful and intemperate letter from Ken Jones (Cutting £20 off benefits is understandable if you look at the Tory mindset, September 16), which I cannot believe resonates with CNJ readers, irrespective of political attachment or aversion towards the present government.

While others more deeply offended may be inclined to complain to whoever now regulates the press, publishing Mr Jones’s letter is a serious lapse of judgment. Perhaps it is overdue for John Gulliver to return from his extended lunch and exercise editorial moderation.
