Professor Moshé Machover must have an apology from the Labour Party
16 November, 2017
• IT is disgraceful if the Labour Party has still not apologised to Professor Moshé Machover, as Ruth Tenne reports in her November 9 letter (Professor Moshé Machover’s historical account is fully substantiated).
Professor Machover, after the 1967 war, was the leading spokesperson in London of a small group – mainly Jewish – including the late Israeli journalist and cartoonist Achiva Orr, Erich Fried, the Austrian-born poet and Shakespeare translator, and the Egyptian Coptic novelist Waguih Ghali, which warned publicly and presciently of the disastrous consequences of the occupation of the West Bank, now full of illegal Israeli settlements.
