PATRICK Maguire – the youngest of the “Maguire 7” wrongly imprisoned over the Guildford pub bombings in the 1970s – now spends his time as a professional artist.

He told Diary this week he had been working for several months on a new colouring book for children with autism in south-east Asia and China.

Mr Maguire, who lives in Paddington, spent a month in China last year and helped out at a school for children with special needs.

He said: “I’m hoping to be going back in October, this time to Singapore, where the charity East West Artisans (EWA) is now based. There are also projects in Myanmar and art camps in India, as well as other things, so I’m looking forward to that!”

Mr Maguire is also having an exhibition of his latest artwork at the new Cave space in Pimlico, in November.
