Parking and disabilities
15 October, 2020
• WILL Coles needs to get his facts right when it comes to the needs of our disabled community, (The only way to reduce congestion is to get people out of their cars, October 8).
It is true many disabled people are unable to drive owing to the condition they are living with. However instead of being confined to their homes, as he might assume, they are driven by other people, usually family members or carers.
They still have Blue Badges, Motability cars and other disabled travel rights and need to be able to access parking spaces, despite not being drivers themselves. He certainly has come up with a massive over-simplification.
