Phone grab warning for Geocaching treasure hunters
Game sends players searching for hidden boxes all across London

URBAN orienteers have been advised to be alert to phone thieves when trying to reach a secret spot in Belsize Park.
The warning was issued on the GeoCaching game, a mobile app rapidly escalating in popularity which sends users in search for hidden “caches” across the country.
Players use the app’s map and clues to find boxes concealed around Camden and beyond, although – to avoid spoilers – are required not to take photograph of their hiding places or what is inside.
Often there is a logbook to sign or a small item to swap.
One of the caches is listed somewhere close to the deep level bunker in Haverstock Hill, but users are warned: “Sadly, Belsize Park is targeted by thieves on bikes snatching people’s phones so please be very careful, especially if you are visiting at night.”
Other caches include spots on Hampstead Heath and at the stone monument marking Maitland Park in Prince of Wales Road.
