31 August, 2017
NORTH Middlesex lost their penultimate game of the season in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Cricket League by just three runs on Saturday in a thriller at Stanmore.
Opener Steven Reingold enjoyed a knock of 103 as the hosts posted a testing score of 270-9 from their allotted 50 overs. Adam Price was the pick of the North Midd bowlers as he took 4-54 in 10 overs.
The visitors put in a spirited reply with four players – skipper Tom Nicoll (45 runs), Price (47). Ravi Patel (44) and Joel Hughes (45) – all coming within a whisker of a half-century.
In an agonising finale, North Midd just missed out on victory, however, as they finished their 50 overs on 267-8.
Meanwhile, Sam Evison and Garth Davson scored 125 and 104 runs respectively as Hampstead recorded a 118-run win over Brondesbury. Hampstead scored 299-5 off their 50 overs, before dismissing their opponents for just 181.
Ealing were crowned league champions after beating Finchley.
