Gakleen Shahata, who is deaf and speech impaired, has been found after two months away from home

A DEAF Lisson Grove woman who was missing for more than two months has been found “safe and well”.

Gakleen Shahata had not been seen since she disappeared from the Golders Green Parish Church in Barnet, after attending a service with her family. Police said that around midday on February 12, Ms Shahata went to the toilet but did not come back.

Concerns were growing for the 39-year-old, whose speech is impaired and who has minor learning difficulties. Speaking to the West End Extra last week, her family told of their worries, as according to her brother Wahid Shahata, she had never been away from home for that long before. Following an appeal last week in the West End Extra, police announced today that she has now been found.

Ms Shahata also went missing from her home on December 27, with police making an appeal to the public, but was found on January 6, the police said.
