ALL good musicals end with a wedding, including the classic Guys and Dolls.

But a recent production of the famous show in the West End led to real life nuptials after a theatre’s stage carpenter fell for a hair and wigs expert behind the scenes.

It made sense then that Gary Swain and Jessica Plews recently decided to tie the knot at the Phoenix Theatre in Charing Cross Road, where they first got together.

In a carefully planned operation, the bride and groom’s families – and friends from Theatreland – temporarily removed the seats in the stalls for the wedding party.

There was then a race against time to get them all back in place ready for the audience arriving for the theatre’s new show, Come From Away.

Ms Plews grew up in Highgate and is the daughter of John and Katie Plews, who run the Upstairs At The Gatehouse theatre.
