WESTMINSTER lighting specialists are being offered the chance to have designs displayed at next year’s Oxford Street Christmas event.

The Royal Institute of British Architects and New West End Company are launching the competition to find the most “inspiring and innovative” Christmas lights. The winning entry also gets £3,000.

The lights have gone up in the famous shopping street for 50 years in a traditional curtain-raiser to the festive season.

CEO of New West End Company Jace Tyrrell said: “During the festive season, the 40 million visitors who visit London’s West End expect to see a vibrant display of light and colour.”
