London elections: Lib Dems select Marisha Ray to stand in Barnet and Camden
Party looks to follow up EU elections success with City Hall campaign
07 June, 2019 — By Richard Osley
LIBERAL Democrats today (Friday) selected Marisha Ray to stand in the Camden and Barnet constituency at next year’s City Hall elections
The contest has taken on new intrigue after the party topped the polls in nearly all of the wards in Camden at last month’s European elections and with Labour’s sitting assembly member, Andrew Dismore, stepping down.
Ms Ray is a former councillor in Islington who has also stood for parliament in Croydon and Chipping Barnet.
Labour has not announced who will stand for them, but the Conservatives have installed Barnet councillor Roberto Weeden-Sanz as their candidate.
