Let’s move on with the coverage of Arsenal

Arsène Wenger

• FIRST, before I am accused of mean-spirited jealousy, let me tell the whole world I am a fully paid-up, loyal, lifelong Gooner.

However, am I the only one who is sick and tired of Richard Osley banging on and on and on and on about the “Invincibles”?

According to my thesaurus one of the definitions of the word invincibles is unbeatable. If so we were not invincible as we were beaten in the Champions League, beaten in the FA Cup, beaten in the League Cup and, if it matters, beaten in the Community Shield.

In that season we achieved 90 points which has been overtaken this year by Manchester City with three games to go. We also drew 12 times.

Please, with the imminent retirement of Arsène Wenger, the premiership’s greatest-ever foreign manager, who may I say was shown no loyalty whatsoever by Richard Osley, can we all move on and forget about 2003-04 and all look forward to 2018-19?
