HAMPSTEAD is to get another new bakery after plans were submitted to decorate the old Cafe Rouge restaurant in the high street.
Ole & Steen – an “all day Danish bakery, which has branches in Notting Hill, Kensington High Street and Richmond – is set to move in.
Planning officials are currently reviewing designs for sign at the front of the building and an application asking for permission for outdoor tables.
Café Rouge departed after its lease came to an end in 2019 and its exit at the time was considered a loss to groups who used the first floor for meetings and private hire.
Ole & Steen grew a portfolio of bakeries in Denmark before expanding to the UK and, two years ago, to the United States as well.
