12 December, 2017 — By Geoffrey Sawyer

ARTISAN breadsellers GAIL’s Bakery is set to expand its operations further by becoming the latest chain to open in Kentish Town.

Plans to change a shopfront at the corner of Kentish Town Road and Gaisford Street – opposite the long-standing Earth Natural Foods – are being considered at the Town Hall. It follows GAIL’s Bakery move into Highgate High Street, Highgate, earlier this year.

Gail’s Bakery want to open into this vacant unit in Kentish Town Road

The number of chains moving into Kentish Town has been a regular source of debate for people living in the area, with several big name coffee operators recently moving in close by. Starbucks was prevented from opening a store but its rivals Caffe Nero did get through the planning process and has begun trading close to a Costa and a Pret A Manger.
