Free holiday club for high-rise kids
Summer activities for youngsters who have had limited access to outdoor space during lockdown

FREE holiday clubs have been made available at a nursery as part of a scheme aiming to help children living in high-rise flats.
The London Early Years Foundation is funding the project at the Angel Pre School in Pimlico with activities including football coaching, dance, yoga, music and reading.
The foundation said that some children without easy access to outdoor space in the lockdown had been “displaying high levels of anxiety and finding it extremely difficult to separate from their parents”.
Nursery manager at Angel Christel Brown said: “The holiday club is supporting some of our most disadvantaged families – with school uniform vouchers, shoes and a school ‘readiness’ pack.
“This includes everything a child will need to start primary school such as a pencil case, pens, erasers and sharpeners and a water bottle.”
The holiday clubs include lessons on how to cook healthy meals without using sugar.
June O’Sullivan, chief executive of the London Early Years Foundation charity, said: “Disadvantaged children face an educational gap right from the start and it widens quickly unless tackled.”
