PLAYERS from Camden Youth Football Club were quite literally jumping for joy after toppling Pro-Direct Academy to win the Capital Girls’ League Cup.

The triumphant Under-11s team sent their supporters into delirium as they ran out 2-1 victors at the Hive in Barnet thanks to goals from Ava-Grace Maclean and Sienna Noel.

The cup success capped off a fantastic campaign for the girls, who remained unbeaten on their way to being crowned champions of the Capital Girls’ League, winning 14 and drawing just two of their 16 matches.

They also won a special seven-a-side competition in the Camden and Islington Youth League at Market Road to complete a terrific and tremendous treble.

“The girls have been outstanding all season, showing skill, commitment, passion and unbelievable teamwork,” said coach Kirsty Stewart, who works for Camden Council’s Sport and Physical Activity Service.

“We are all so proud of what they have achieved.”
Camden Youth FC, which has girls teams from Under-10s to Under-16s, are now hosting trials. For details call Kirsty Pealling on 020 7974 6294 or email kirsty.pealling@camden.gov.uk
