Could there be a ‘Soho station’?

The Dean Street entrance to Crossrail
Diary has watched over an extended period, on a daily basis, the building works for Crossrail in the heart of the West End.
We have stood as banksmen stop pedestrians and traffic on Oxford Street and heavy trucks have come in and out of the site just to the east of Soho Square.
So this week has held some importance as the new link was due to open early December 2018. But delays mean the first trains to clank and sway through the deep, deep tunnels are not due for another year.
With this news, Diary turns its gaze towards the new entrance and ticket hall area along Oxford Street, a good whack of a walk from Tottenham Court Road.
We had long pon- dered what this station should be called, consid- ering it has an entry point on Dean Street and is some distance from Tottenham Court Road proper…
With another 12 months to go before it is opened, we humbly suggest there is time to brand it Soho station, a globally renowned neighbourhood worthy of a station named after it. Will Transport for London bosses use this delay to consider such a proposal?
