THE singer of chart- topping band Clean Bandit has appealed for help finding her best friend’s stolen violin.
Former Westminster School student Grace Chatto is desperate to find Daniel Chandler’s “beautiful instrument” after it was taken during a burglary of his home in Hampstead over Christmas.
She told Westminster Extra: “A best friend of mine has been robbed and his violin is gone. He used to play this violin with us in Clean Bandit and it is such a beautiful instrument. We need to do everything we can to get it back: if anyone has any information at all please get in touch.
“It was taken near Swiss Cottage a few weeks ago, but could be anywhere now. Please join us and ask around too.” She added: “A person’s violin becomes a part of them.”
The photo of the pair seen above – with another friend, professional musician Beatrice Phillips – was taken at Mr Chandler’s home in June when they had a party to celebrate the life and music of George Michael.
In January 2014, Clean Bandit reached number 1 with Rather Be and in 2016 the single Rockabye was number 1 for seven weeks.
