Chamber music, a children’s concert and jazz are in the sixth Belsize Festival being held at St Peter’s Church, Belsize Square, over the weekend.

The festival opens with a classical concert this Friday evening (May 11). Being performed are works by Bach, Vieuxtemps, Brahms and the Schumann piano quartet, by local musicians Ian Brown, piano; Carol Slater, violin; Ian Jewel, viola; and Pal Banda, piano (7.30pm, £10).

Next up, on Saturday afternoon (May 12), is a new festival venture, a children’s concert that looks great fun. Highlight is a narration/violin version Munro Leaf’s Ferdinand the Bull. Also, children are invited to bring their instruments and play or sing in a two-part piece (4pm, £5).

Thirdly, Carol Jewel and Brigitte Beraha are singing with the Rob Barron Trio in a jazz concert on Sunday evening (7.30pm, £10).
