The cast prepare for a different kind of open-air theatre

A PRODUCTION of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is set to go ahead surrounded by farm animals, as thespians gear up to perform at Freightliners City Farm.

Butterfly Theatre will perform the play at the Holloway Farm on August 31, at 11am, 2pm and 4pm, and artistic director Aileen Gonsalves has promised an unforgettable performance.

“Come and see the teenage lovers breaking lockdown curfew out in the paddock,” she said.

“Puck creating havoc as he mixes in too many bubbles; and the key-worker mechanicals as they attempt to hold the show together… all with the sounds of the animals as accompaniment.”

Tickets can be booked via the Eventbrite website.

Anybody interested in going is advised to bring blankets, cushions, sun hats and umbrellas.
