Baker Street’s first ever Christmas lights to be unveiled on November 21

How one of the displays will look

CHRISTMAS lights are set to be unveiled in and around Baker Street for the first time.

Four site-specific installations – in Portman Square Garden, Manchester Square Garden, 55 Baker Street and at the Baker Street/Marylebone Junction – will be revealed on Thursday.

The displays, designed by award-winning Michael Grubb Studio, will tell the stories of the area including the Baker Street Bazaar, the Marylebone Pleasure Garden, Lady Montagu’s “Blue Stocking Parties” and Sherlock Holmes.

Illuminated geese will be perched on columns around Baker Street to represent the missing blue jewels in Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Adventure of The Blue Carbuncle.

Restaurants, shops and bars in the “Baker Street Quarter” will be offering various discounts while and there will be hour-long history walk on December 4 from 6pm.
