Karen Emanuel awarded ‘woman of the year’ at everywoman Awards
Off to The Dorchester in Park Lane, and a seat at the NatWest everywoman Awards.
Now into its 16th year, the event celebrates the success of the UK’s top female entrepreneurs, and nominees range from young business women who have already made an impact to others who have built up multi- million-pound organisations.
Diary hears the lavish event saw a host of leading business women share their stories before judges unveiled the winners. And we were thrilled to learn that the top gong, woman of the year, was scooped by Diary’s old friend from the music industry, the incomparable Karen Emanuel.
Karen set up Key Production, a leading British firm in the music industry, and has provided work for hundreds of people.
Her firm has played a part in producing hit record after hit record, and is a giant among independent music businesses in the hugely important UK music world.
But there is more: Karen also established a boutique hotel on an island on Lake Nicaragua she happened to come across, and runs
Think Tank Media, a creative packaging firm.
Speaking about the finalists, Maxine Benson MBE, the co-founder at everywoman, said: “Despite the fact that the UK is one of the best places to grow a business, only one-third are owned by women; everywoman is committed to recognising and addressing the reasons behind this.
“This year’s finalists’ inspirational stories will encourage others to follow in their footsteps.”
Three cheers for Karen.
