PLACARDS branded with “One solution, Revolution” filled central London on Saturday as activists took to the streets for the Million Mask March.
Police said 53 people were arrested at the protest, for offences including drugs, carrying offensive weapons, public order offences and obstruction.
The demo, organised by campaign group Anonymous, takes place every year on November 5 to promote an anti-capitalist, anti-corruption and anti-war agenda.
One marcher, who asked not to be named, said: “The atmosphere was euphoric at times with many families in attendance, people of all ages holding hands and dancing around sound systems. There was a very small minority who looked like they might welcome some trouble but it was a peaceful demo. Most people felt very worried about the upcoming American election, and the consequences of Brexit.”
